Zack –
Excellent Hifi Audio Custom Switches.
I have a fairly complex Home HiFi stereo setup, and worked closely with Vintage Audio Maker in order to come up with a custom design solution to allow me to switch between all of my gear at the flip of a few switches. This switch along with a 2nd switch he helped design allow me to switch my Hifi speakers and amplifier between 3 different sources (2 DACs, and a Vinyl TT Setup), as well as a bypass option for my tube pre-amplifier. With everything wired and setup correctly, I can now easily switch these audio sources, and choose to route their signal through my tube pre-amp for that lovely tube sound, or bypass the tube pre-amp for a purely digital pure audio source.
Paul was easy to work with, very responsive, and offered insights on the best way to wire and set these switches up, including recommending a ground lift switch to account for the fact that one of my sources did not natively support a true 3-pin XLR format but rather used traditional RCA. This gives me the option to either ground the signal to the chassis, or pass it via the cable as normal in case I ran into a ground loop or hum issue.
After getting everything setup and wired, I can confirm these switches are of excellent quality and easy to use. Most importantly, using these swithces had zero effect on the very sensitive sound quality aspect of my fairly expensive HiFi speakers and equipment -- the sound signature overall remained identical to cabling the devices up directly which is exactly what you want to see when dealing with expensive high-end audio gear. I'd highly recommend working with him for what you need, as he can build any sort of input or output XLR switch components to your exact need, such as this switch that features 2 pairs of inputs and 1 pair of outputs with the embedded ground lift switch which can optionally be toggled if needed to address ground loop hum issues -- Such a switch simply does not exist in the OEM market.
