It’s simple physics. The analog summing mixer adds extra analog harmonic content and provides a safe zone for your instruments, seamlessly mixing transients and harmonics without any loss of quality, thanks to what is known as ‘Headroom’.
Headroom safeguards your sound and preserves the individual clarity and positioning of instruments in the panorama field, resulting in a wide and deep 3D sound. By sending higher volume audio signals to the summing inputs and introducing gentle analog harmonic distortion, you can retain and capture the essential harmonics in the SUM BUS, which are subsequently combined into a master stereo track. Then, you can send it to a preamp for the main recording, adding the color of Unison preamp emulation
