The Vision Behind the Sound

VintageMaker is one of the last remaining manufacturers in the world dedicated to professional, hand-built studio gear. Since 2010, we have delivered nearly 2,000 unique custom studio solutions from our workshop in the European Union — a truly rare level of personalization in today’s mass-produced market.

The brand was founded by Paul Taylor (Szabó Pál Zsolt), who serves as the lead designer and engineer. With a rich background as a musician, jazz pianist, studio composer, and producer, Paul bridges the gap between musical intuition and boutique analog audio design. His deep understanding of the creative process allows him to craft equipment that doesn’t just measure well, but feels right to the artist.

Every VintageMaker unit is built by hand to meet the specific needs of audio engineers, blending precision craftsmanship with high-headroom circuitry.

“My goal is simple: to design and build the finest analogue bridge for studio enthusiasts, giving every mix the 3D depth and soul it deserves.”Paul Taylor

Since 2010, VintageMaker has been dedicated to the art of crafting supremely refined, professional studio audio equipment by hand.
Each piece is built to meet the individual needs and preferences of audio engineers, blending state-of-the-art technology with exceptional craftsmanship.

“My goal is to make the best audio equipment for studio enthusiasts”

Many clients come to me saying they’re not quite sure where to begin in the world of analog summing.
What I usually say—without any flashy marketing talk (I know people tend to believe in products that make big promises)—is that I won’t sugarcoat things just to impress.

Honestly, analog summing a tool in your hands — but if you learn how to use it, you can achieve brilliant results.
I say this as a former producer, musician, studio owner, and pro audio builder since 2010.

Unlike many other manufacturers, I offer a wide range of unique solutions — including some options I’ve personally developed over many years, based on customer feedback. So you get exactly what you need — without any unnecessary extras you’ll never use.

When the Harmonics Kick In, You’ll Know
If you take the time to learn how to use it, you’ll be successful.
It takes a little while to find the right gain stage where the gentle analogue harmonics begin to reveal their beneficial effect.
Once you hear that sound, you’ll know you’re on the right path.

Vintagemaker — My Philosophy

I design and hand-build every Vintagemaker unit myself. No factory, no assembly line. Every signal path, every solder joint, every decision is made by ear and by experience.

The wiring isn’t arranged for show — it’s placed where the audio performs best. Each conductor is fixed in place to keep unwanted electrical effects (parasitics) stable and the grounding clean. This is how I achieve consistently low noise, strong SNR, and clean harmonic structure across every unit.
On request I build with your choice of conductor material: silver, silver-plated copper wire, oxygen-free copper (OFC), or traditional solid copper — whichever suits your sonic goal. I swear by traditional solid copper — it delivers the most natural, stable, and authentic sound character.

After 15+ years, the record is simple:
excellent sound, proven reliability, almost zero failures.

Not built to make the wiring look perfect in pictures.
Built to sound perfect in the studio — to bring depth, warmth, and life to your music.

One designer.
One pair of hands.
One sound.
