CUSTOM 12-Channel RCA A/B Hi-Fi Studio SWITCHER

A professional 2-way passive RCA A/B signal switcher designed for Hi-Fi, professional studio and Home Theater applications.

The unit provides 36 RCA connections, 12 independent A/B switching sections, allowing two signal paths to be connected to each switching section and selected without repatching cables.

24 INPUTS / 12 OUTPUTS – Bi-Directional

The standard configuration provides:

• 12 × A Inputs or Outputs
• 12 × B Inputs or Outputs
• 12 × Outputs or Inputs

Each switching section allows selection between:

A → Output/Input
or
B → Output/Input

The 12 switching sections operate independently.

BI-DIRECTIONAL OPERATION

Unlike a conventional directional signal router, this unit is fully bi-directional.

The RCA connections can be used in either direction, depending on the application.

This makes the switcher suitable not only for selecting between two sources feeding an output, but also for switching between two destinations from a common source.

For example:

Source → A/B Switcher → Destination A or Destination B

or:

Source A or Source B → A/B Switcher → Destination

The passive switching architecture allows the unit to be integrated according to the requirements of the system.

FLOATING GROUND & FULLY ISOLATED I/O

A key feature of this custom design is its floating-ground architecture.

Every individual RCA I/O connection is electrically isolated from the metal chassis.

The RCA connectors are not directly bonded to the enclosure, providing additional grounding flexibility when integrating the switcher into complex audio systems.

This can be particularly useful in installations where unwanted ground paths and ground-loop-related hum or noise need to be carefully controlled.

Important: The I/O isolation refers to electrical isolation from the metal chassis. It does not mean galvanic isolation between the individual audio channels.

PASSIVE ANALOG SIGNAL PATH

The switcher uses a passive analog signal path with no active amplification, buffering or digital processing.

There is no unnecessary active circuitry in the audio path—the unit simply performs the required analog switching.
