2U Rack 10-Channel Summing Mixer for UAD Apollo x8

This 2U rack-mount summing mixer features 10 input channels and is specifically designed for seamless integration with the UAD Apollo x8 audio interface.

Apollo Monitor Out Switch Function

The interface Monitor Out signal can be routed:

  • Directly to the Summing Outputs (Switch UP), or

  • Through the summing circuit for analog mixing (Switch DOWN)

All other summing inputs remain active, so unused channels should be muted in the DAW. No cable re-patching is required.

Functionality

Routing the signal directly to the monitor path allows for:

  • Listening

  • Tracking

  • General playback

Routing through the summing circuit enables:

  • Analog summing

  • Hybrid mixing workflows

—all without changing your physical connections.

STM – Stereo to Mono Switch

The STM (Stereo to Mono) switch provides a stable analog mono signal for key elements such as:

  • Kick

  • Bass

  • Lead vocals

  • Snare

This allows you to save DAW output channels while maintaining proper separation and a solid center image by summing hard-panned L/R inputs.

Stereo sources can still be routed in full stereo, preserving complete stereo imaging and DAW panning flexibility.

    Proper rack gear, proper results

    Wanted something that actually lives in the rack rather than another desktop box cluttering up the studio. This 2U fits perfectly next to the Apollo x8 and the whole signal chain just makes sence now — everything neat, cabled up, done.
    The monitor out switch is genuinely well thought through. Flip it up for direct monitoring during tracking, flip it down for summing during a mix session — no repaching, no fiddling. That alone saves a suprising amount of headspace mid-session.
    Sound quality is exactly what you want from a passive summing network — clean, open, with a bit of that analog glue that plugins just don't nail the same way. The STM switch for kick and bass keeps the low end locked and centred. VISHAY DALE resistors throughout, hand wired point-to-point, specs are rock solid: crosstalk at -110dB, THD under 0.004%.
    15 working days build time, arrived well packed and tested. For a custom handbuilt 2U rack unit at this price, absolutly no complaints.
