3-Way In / 7-Way Out RCA Stereo Hi-Fi Studio Switch / Amplifier Router

Hand-built passive RCA switcher with 3 stereo inputs, 7 stereo outputs, designed according to the customer’s ideas, plans, and specifications.

Configuration

A custom-built passive RCA switching unit designed for systems where multiple Hi-Fi sources need to be routed to multiple vintage receivers, amplifiers or other stereo equipment.

This configuration provides 3 stereo RCA inputs and 7 stereo RCA outputs, allowing you to select between three sources and route the selected source to one of seven connected amplifiers or receivers.

BBM Signal & Ground Switching

The main signal routing uses break-before-make (BBM) switching, with both L/R signal and signal ground switched together.

All RCA connectors are electrically isolated from the chassis.

Chassis-Ground Isolation

The unit can be built with signal-ground and chassis-ground isolation to help prevent unwanted ground-loop paths in systems containing multiple connected amplifiers and receivers. This is especially useful in complex Hi-Fi setups where several pieces of equipment have different grounding arrangements.

Completely Passive Signal Path

The switcher is completely passive, with no active electronics, amplification or buffering in the audio signal path. It simply routes the selected RCA signal between the connected equipment, while keeping the switching circuitry isolated from the unused I/O connections for the most direct and transparent signal path possible.

Custom Front Panel

The front panel can be customized to match your system. For this configuration, the input selector would be labeled:

PHONO | DAC 1 | DAC 2

The seven amplifier outputs can also be individually labeled with your preferred receiver or amplifier names.

System Note

The switcher is designed to prevent unwanted signal and ground interaction within the unit itself. However, noise, hum, ground loops, or crosstalk originating from other equipment or additional connections elsewhere in the audio system are outside the switcher’s control.
